The Aquaculture Study Program at the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science (FPIK), Mulawarman University, is an educational institution offering an undergraduate (S1) program in aquaculture. This study program has a long history, starting on February 26, 1976, when it was part of the Faculty of Agriculture as the Fisheries Department.
In 1984, based on the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education No. 102/DIKTI/Kep/Year 1984, the Fisheries Department was designated to oversee three study programs: Aquaculture (BDP), Aquatic Resources Management, and Fisheries Socio-Economics. A significant change occurred in 2000 when the Fisheries Department became an independent faculty, known as the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, officially commencing operations on February 7, 2001.
Later, on May 8, 2020, it was officially changed its name to “Aquaculture Study Program” based on the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia No. 527/M/2020 concerning changes in study program names at Mulawarman University.
