
AQUACULTURE STUDY PROGRAM




DESCRIPTION
The Aquaculture Program of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science (FPIK), Mulawarman University, is an educational institution that provides undergraduate (S1) education and teaching to students. The Program was initially part of the Faculty of Agriculture, as the Fisheries Department, on February 26, 1976. Based on the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education No. 102/DIKTI/Kep/Year 1984, the Fisheries Department within the Faculty of Agriculture was designated to oversee three study programs: the Aquaculture Study Program, the Aquatic Resources Management Study Program, and the Fisheries Socio-Economics Study Program. Based on the Decree of the Minister of National Education No. 237/0/2000, the Fisheries Department of the Faculty of Agriculture changed its status to an independent faculty and was named the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, Mulawarman University. The Governor of East Kalimantan Province then inaugurated the operation of FPIK on February 7, 2001.

To become a nationally superior center for Education, Research, and Community Service in the field of Aquaculture in Wet Tropical Regions by 2027.
MISSION
- To conduct undergraduate education and produce graduates who are ethical and academically capable of actively participating in development in the field of aquaculture in wet tropical regions.
- To develop the quality of research in the field of aquaculture in wet tropical environments.
- To develop and disseminate aquaculture technology for community empowerment.
