On Friday, November 11th, the Aquaculture Study Program held a Scientific Writing Training session. This initiative aimed to introduce new students early to scientific writing, a skill crucial for university-level coursework, including future final assignments. The quicker this introduction, the more accustomed students become to writing scientifically.
The Dean of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, Mulawarman University, Dr. Ir. Komsanah Sukarti, M.P., noted in her address that such training benefits students, especially those in the Aquaculture Study Program, in preparing for proposal seminars, results seminars, field work practice (PKL) reports, and their theses. The scientific writing training was moderated by Ricko Reynalta, S.Pi., M.Si., and featured Dr. Ir. Henny Pagoray, M.Si. as the speaker for scientific writing dissemination and Dr. Andi Nikhlani, S.Pi., M.P. as the facilitator for the Focus Group Discussion (FGD).
Students showed enthusiasm during the training, asking many questions and providing feedback during the discussion session.
This training is expected to help students complete their undergraduate assignments, such as papers, field work practice (PKL) reports, and theses, by consistently applying scientific writing rules.
