
On Thursday, June 30, 2022, students from SMA Pusat Pengembangan Anak ID 0358 Gereja Kemah Injil Indonesia Jemaat Imanuel Muara Asa, West Kutai Regency, visited the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science (FPIK) at Mulawarman University (UNMUL). This visit was part of a campus introduction and an exploration of the aquaculture study program. The Dean, Vice Dean 3, and FPIK UNMUL lecturers warmly welcomed the students.
In an enthusiastic atmosphere, the students were introduced to FPIK UNMUL’s modern facilities. They had the opportunity to explore the fisheries laboratories, equipped with the latest technology, and interact directly with students currently studying aquaculture.
This activity aimed to provide students with a comprehensive overview of FPIK UNMUL’s academic environment and opportunities, especially in aquaculture. The Dean of FPIK UNMUL emphasized the importance of sustainable fisheries resource development in supporting regional food and economic needs.
The visit also allowed the students from Pusat Pengembangan Anak ID 0358 Gereja Kemah Injil Indonesia Jemaat Imanuel Muara Asa to ask direct questions to FPIK UNMUL lecturers and students, gaining in-depth information about the curriculum, research, and career prospects in fisheries and aquaculture.
The Dean of FPIK UNMUL and Vice Dean 3 expressed hope that this visit would provide valuable insight to the students in choosing their higher education path and encourage their passion for knowledge in the field of fisheries and aquaculture.
